AFRICA FASHION WEEK LONDON 2019

Thought i’d bring you some street style images shot on day two from
Africa Fashion Week London 2019. The annual event showcases the finest creations of Dutch Cotton Printing, with its well known and distinctive, vivid colours and bold pattern printing. No doom and gloom on show here. Sunshine and dancing is only the course of action, in energy conveyed from these bright print fabrics.

Designers from the continent of Africa and around the UK, display and show off their latest designs. Presentations, displays and catwalk shows take place over the events two days, which took place at the famous Grand Lodge at freemason’s Hall, in London’s Covent Garden area.

On the outside there’s nothing superficial. Bright colours and characters is what’s on display, as guests comprised of stylist, buyers, designers and avid fashion and culture fans arrive to attend the event, bringing only their sunny disposition, even on a typically windy UK summers day.
When the gray comes out to play up in the heavens, bright colours are a welcome delight.
This is a given and an essential part of African Fashion Culture. Let’s have none of this  dull UK darkness. Ever noticed how so many or so much of the fashion in the UK, is so dark and lacking in colour excitement? Go and get yourself some sunshine, captured in happy smiley energy packed Dutch Printed Cotten designed African Fashion.

I hope this is reflected in the images I was able to capture for you.
