WELCOME JIAX

Back in September 2018 during London Fashion Week, I met a young Chinese woman while doing my Street Style thing I’ve been documenting the last 25 years.
Her western name is Jiax, Chinese name is 王佳娴 Wang Jiaxian.

She had this big beaming smile and lovely purple, fuchsia hair. I produced an outstanding shot of her, possibly my best of the day. It took me a while, but eventually we met up for a chat and an impromptu fitting, which she enjoyed. Jiax studied Arts & Cultural Management at King’s College London, and speaks Russian.
Never saw that one coming! She’s artistic but shy about letting the world know it.
There’s much to Jaix. I suspect that the world will be surprised to know, and we look forward to it.

In celebration of the lovely Jiax, we did a small photo shoot recently.
As usual, I styled her according to her personality. I’m so glad I got it right, because she enjoyed herself. I think the images show it, but you decide for yourselves.
All this energy was hiding deep within.
I suspected it was there, but we managed to capture some of it to share with you.

In these images, Jiax wears a vintage 1970s feminine floral print dress, which she loved very much.
A vintage 1970s monochrome Maxi dress, with various necklaces from the same period.
A vintage waistcoat by Escada, with a 1980s blouse, with trousers by J-Crew and patent leather customised Oxford heel brogues.
Her last look was a blue jacket, with trousers by J-Crew and high heel mules by Stuart Weitzman for Russell & Bromley.
